Spotlights are graphic boxes on the homepage that publicize a service, event, or news items that is important to our users. Spotlights link to an existing web page (typically to highlight a service, collection, etc.) or to a new web page containing the news release.
News Item
A news item is a significant activity, accomplishment, or event happening at the Libraries that we want to share with the campus, community, and media. The associated news release is a compelling write up that outlines the main facts. The Communications and Events office will determine the appropriate placements for the news items, including the Libraries’ homepage, Newsroom page, social media, digital signage, media release, etc.
